Annotation

The main goal of the course is to provide students with knowledge and skills to work with specific LAN, MAN and WAN technologies. Design of networks with VLAN, LACP, Etherchannel is considered. The principle of operation of protocols such as STP, VTP, PPPoE is followed. Students are introduced to the basic principles of PON, WDM, DSL. Based on the principles of operation of older technologies such as ISDN and FRAME RELAY, the basic QoS requirements of computer networks are considered. Students are introduced to WAN protocols such as MPLS and the accompanying network recovery protocols, as well as its collaboration with routing protocols such as IS-IS and BGP.
