The course aims to teach students to understand and apply the basic machine learning methods and algorithms for solving problems such as prediction, pattern recognition, image processing and others.

Content

Classical machine learning methods are presented - linear and logarithmic regression, neural networks, Support Vector Machines, k-Nearest Neighborhood algorithm, principal components analysis, regularization, and others.
During the exercises, applications for solving some typical machine learning problems are implemented, e.g. prediction of house prices, image recognition, text analysis, spam e-mail detection.
